R&D Design Engineer

R&D Design Engineer - Power Distribution Equipment Location: Wendell, NC (Hybrid - 3 days onsite/week) Our client is hiring an R&D Design Engineer to design and refine switch devices, switchgear, and circuit breakers, working alongside international cross-functional teams to bring innovative, reliable solutions to market. Responsibilities include: - Create and refine designs for power distribution equipment, including switch devices, switchgear, and circuit breakers - Lead prototyping and testing phases, analyzing results to validate and refine designs - Collaborate with international, cross-functional teams across manufacturing, quality assurance, and product management - Stay current on industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes - Identify and implement innovative approaches to improve product functionality, efficiency, and sustainability - Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources for assigned design initiatives Requirements: - Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering - 3+ years of experience in R&D and design roles, specifically in power distribution or electrical equipment - Direct experience designing switch devices, switchgear, or circuit breakers Preferred Qualifications: - Proficiency in design software (NX, Teamcenter) - Familiarity with IEEE, ISO, UL, and related industry standards By applying for this job, you agree to receive calls, Al-generated calls, text messages, or emails from Synerfac Technical Staffing and our contracted partners.
