Schedule: Monday Friday 8-Hour Day Shifts + Emergency On-Call
Setting: Inpatient Only
EMR: Epic
Support: Solo with access to Hospitalists and Intensivists (No APPs)

Daily Expectations:

  • Daily rounding and consultations
  • Average census: 5 10 patients/day
  • Inpatient procedures
  • Emergency call coverage required
  • No clinic responsibilities

Required Procedures (May Include):

  • ERCP (Diagnostic & Therapeutic)
  • Diagnostic EGD
  • Esophageal dilatation with guidewire
  • Esophageal stent placement
  • Argon Plasma Coagulator
  • Snare Polypectomy
  • Total Colonoscopy
  • Flexible Sigmoidoscopy
  • PEG placement
  • Laser Endoscopy
  • Paracentesis
  • Pneumatic dilation of achalasia
  • Video Capsule Endoscopy
  • GI bleeding management (massive, acute, or non-variceal)
  • Tumor ablation
  • Ulcerative colitis and Crohn s Disease treatment
  • Airway management (if ACLS certified and approved by Anesthesia Chair)

Requirements:

  • Board Certified in Gastroenterology Required
  • ACLS Certification Required
  • Proficient in full range of inpatient GI procedures
  • Must be comfortable working solo in a hospital-based setting
