Lead CNC Machinist / Shift Lead

2nd Shift $3,500 Sign-On Bonus 4-Day Work Week

Looking for more than just another machining job?

If you're the type of machinist who naturally steps up, solves problems, helps others succeed, and enjoys taking ownership, we'd like to meet you.

At Owens Industries, we don't build the same parts every day. We machine some of the most complex, tight-tolerance components in the aerospace and defense industry using world-class equipment and advanced manufacturing processes. Every day brings a new challenge, and that's exactly how we like it.

We're looking for someone who wants to lead from the floor not from behind a desk.

Whether you've already been a Lead Machinist or you've been the go-to person everyone relies on, this could be the opportunity to take the next step in your career.

What You'll Do

As our 2nd Shift Lead CNC Machinist, you'll help keep the shop running smoothly while working alongside your team.

You'll:

Lead and support a team of 4-6 machinists throughout the shift
Jump in to solve machining challenges, troubleshoot issues, and keep production moving
Perform machine setups, prove-outs, and assist with complex jobs
Coach and mentor team members while promoting a positive work environment
Work closely with Programming, Engineering, Quality, and Production to ensure success
Help improve processes, efficiency, and quality
Promote safety, organization, and accountability throughout the shop
This is a true working leadership position you'll be making parts, solving problems, and helping your team succeed every day.

Who Thrives Here

You enjoy figuring things out.

You stay calm under pressure.

You take pride in producing exceptional work.

You believe quality matters.

You have CNC experience, can interpret blueprints, and possess a strong attention to detail.

You're someone your coworkers already come to when they need help.

If that sounds like you, we want to talk.

Why Owens Industries?

Our work isn't production machining.

We specialize in low-volume, high-complexity precision components where craftsmanship, creativity, and problem-solving matter.

Our facility is climate-controlled and you'll work with industry-leading equipment including:

Hermle 5-Axis Machining Centers
DMG MORI CNC Machines
Okuma CNC Equipment
Agie Charmilles Wire & Sinker EDM
Zeiss CMM Inspection Systems
You'll have the opportunity to work with advanced materials and some of the most demanding tolerances in manufacturing while building components that support critical aerospace and defense applications.
