About the Role

We're seeking a hands-on Plant Manager to lead daily operations within a fast-paced food manufacturing and packaging facility. This role is responsible for driving production, fulfillment, and shipping performance while ensuring customer orders are completed on time, maintaining food safety compliance, and developing high-performing teams. The ideal candidate thrives in a high-volume, high-mix manufacturing environment with short production lead times and a strong focus on execution, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Job Responsibilities

Lead daily operations across production, packaging, fulfillment, and shipping to ensure safe, efficient, and on-time execution
Drive production performance by identifying bottlenecks, improving throughput, and balancing labor across departments
Partner with production planning and scheduling teams to ensure realistic production plans and timely order completion
Monitor daily production performance and adjust staffing, priorities, and resources as needed to meet customer commitments
Lead, coach, and develop supervisors and production employees while promoting accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement
Establish and monitor performance expectations related to productivity, quality, safety, and operational efficiency
Manage labor utilization and payroll while maintaining budget expectations
Ensure compliance with GMP, FDA, HACCP, and all applicable food safety and quality standards
Maintain a clean, organized, and audit-ready manufacturing environment
Partner with Quality, Customer Service, Sales, and Operations teams to communicate production status, resolve issues, and support new product launches

Requirements

7-10+ years of plant management or manufacturing operations leadership experience
Experience in food manufacturing, food packaging, or another regulated manufacturing environment is required
Experience leading high-volume, high-mix manufacturing operations with short production lead times
Strong knowledge of production scheduling, throughput optimization, labor planning, and capacity management
Demonstrated leadership experience developing supervisors and leading production teams in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and organizational skills
Working knowledge of GMP, FDA, and HACCP food safety standards preferred
