Hematology/Oncology Physician

Schedule & Coverage:

• Clinic Days: 8 days per month
• Clinic Hours: 8:00 AM 4:00 PM
• Patient Contact Hours: 6 hours/day
• On Call: Yes (exact schedule TBD ASAP)

Job Description:

• Medical Hematology/Oncology coverage for 4/5 days per week.
• Inpatient coverage of both sites
• Number of Physicians: 1
• Number of Advances Practice Providers: 0
• Supervision of APPs expected: NO
• Nursing Support: 1:1
• Medical Imaging: Yes
• Lab & Pharmacy: Yes
• Clinic Provider Daily Volume: 10-30
• Average Daily Hospital Practice Census: 10-15
• Appointment Length: consult - 40 minutes, follow up - 20 minutes
• Patient Population: Primary Clinic - Medicare/ Medicaid/Commercial.
• Secondary Clinical - Commercial, Medicare
• EMR: EPIC

Clinical Responsibilities:

• Medical Hematology and Oncology coverage
• Inpatient care
• Patient assessments and consultations
• Development and management of new and ongoing treatment plans
• Therapy modifications and chemotherapy management
• Pain management and end-of-life care
• Coordination and referral for ancillary services
• Collaboration with radiation and surgical oncology teams

Submission & Credentialing Requirements:

• Board Certified or Truly Board Eligible in Hematology & Oncology Required
• Fellowship Trained in Hematology & Oncology Required
• Active Iowa License or Active IMLC (LOQ required at name clear) Required
• Self-Query NPDB (Should be pulled within the month) at time of presentation - Required
