Surgery - General Physician

We are seeking a Board Certified General Surgeon for an ongoing locum opportunity in Pennsylvania. This position is focused on inpatient call coverage with no clinic responsibilities and flexible scheduling based on provider availability.

Assignment Details

• ASAP start
• Minimum 6-month assignment
• Ongoing coverage
• Flexible call schedule

Schedule

• 24-hour call coverage
• Typically one weekend per month
• Typically one week of call per month
• Weekend call: Friday 7:00 AM Monday 7:00 AM
• Week-long call assignments available based on availability

Practice Setting

• Hospital-based
• Inpatient call only
• No outpatient clinic
• Epic EMR

Clinical Responsibilities

• Broad general surgery call coverage
• Emergency general surgery consults
• Operative management of acute surgical conditions
• Wide variety of general surgery procedures
• Robotic surgery experience preferred but not required

Patient Volume

• Average callback: 2 6 hours per day

Requirements

• MD or DO
• Board Certified in General Surgery
• Active Pennsylvania license or IMLC/LOQ in hand
• DEA required

Credentialing

• Approximately days
• Temporary privileges available for clean files
• NPDB Self-Query required (within 6 months)
• Provider questionnaire required
• Full malpractice disclosure required

Additional Requirements

• Exact coverage dates required at submission
• Malpractice settlements over $500K generally not accepted
• No more than 3 malpractice settlements
• Standard pre-employment health and background requirements
