As a Superintendent, you'll play a key role in delivering high-quality ground-up and tenant improvement commercial projects while working alongside experienced professionals who are passionate about what they do. The OpportunityThe Commercial Construction Superintendent is responsible for leading all day-to-day field operations while ensuring projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to ECI's quality standards.
Success in this role requires more than technical expertise. It requires leadership, communication, accountability, and the ability to proactively solve problems while building strong relationships with clients, trade partners, and project teams.
What You'll Do Project LeadershipLead field operations from mobilization through project completion.
Develop, maintain, and update project schedules (Microsoft Project experience is a plus).
Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, inspectors, and consultants.
Conduct weekly subcontractor coordination meetings.
Drive production while maintaining quality, safety, and schedule expectations.
Enforce OSHA standards and ECI safety policies.
Conduct weekly toolbox safety meetings.
Coordinate inspections and ensure compliance with plans, specifications, and applicable building codes.
Generate and manage punch lists through project closeout.
Maintain exceptional attention to detail throughout every phase of construction.
Complete daily reports, progress photos, and project documentation in Procore.
Communicate effectively with Project Managers, Owners, Architects, Engineers, inspectors, and subcontractors.
Respond promptly to requests from office staff and project stakeholders.
Maintain accurate project documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
Interpret architectural, structural, civil, and MEP construction documents.
Coordinate subcontractor scheduling and sequencing.
Review and verify subcontractor change orders.
Manage material deliveries, equipment logistics, and overall site coordination.
Identify challenges early and proactively develop effective solutions.
The ideal candidate demonstrates:
Experience as a Superintendent with a Commercial General Contractor.
Experience managing ground-up and tenant improvement commercial construction projects.
Strong leadership and organizational skills.
Excellent communication and conflict-resolution abilities.
A proactive, solution-oriented mindset.
High ethical standards and accountability.
Strong understanding of civil, structural, architectural, and MEP coordination.
The ability to motivate subcontractors while maintaining schedule, safety, and quality expectations.
A commitment to delivering exceptional client experiences.
OSHA 30 Certification (preferred)
Procore experience
Microsoft Project experience
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
Valid driver's license and dependable transportation.

Additional InformationThis is a full-time position based within your assigned market.
This is typically not a traveling Superintendent position. While occasional travel may be required, our goal is to keep our Superintendents working within their assigned market.
A valid Texas Driver's License is required. Candidates relocating from out of state must obtain a Texas Driver's License within 60 days of employment.
Employment is contingent upon successfully completing a pre-employment background check and drug screening.
As part of our hiring process, candidates complete a behavioral assessment. This assessment helps us better understand communication styles, strengths, and work preferences and is one of several tools we use to support long-term success for both our employees and our team.
Certain phases of a project may require additional hours to meet critical project milestones.
