Job Summary: The Secondary Machine Operator ensures machinery is set up, works properly and conforms with and can produce materials that conform with company and customer quality standards.

Duties/Responsibilities: The main job functions and responsibilities of the Secondary Machine Operator includes but not limited to the following:

Duties and Responsibilities:

Operates production machinery in accordance with prints and specifications. Assigned machines may include lathes, grinders, mills and similar equipment.
Inspects equipment prior to use to ensure proper setup and alignment; performs basic and routine adjustments.
Produces the required quantity of parts within established specifications and tolerances.
Measures finished pieces with precision measuring tools and equipment to ensure they meet order specifications.
Removes defective products or materials, placing them in specified areas for handling.
Maintains a clean and safe work area.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:
Ability to follow written instructions, diagrams and blueprints.
Ability to operate highly technical machinery and basic hand tools.
Thorough understanding of or the ability to quickly learn production equipment.
Strong math, analytical and problem solving skills.
Excellent time management, organizational skills and attention to detail.

Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Up to two years of experience operating machinery in manufacturing environment.
Two to three years of experience operating lathes, mills and grinders preferred.

Physical Requirements:
Comfortable working in a light industrial/manufacturing environment. (noise, smells)
Prolonged periods of working on feet, using tools and performing repetitive actions that entail frequent bending and lifting.
Must be able to lift up to (50) pounds at times
Visual acuity to read instructions, operate machines, and inspect parts produced.
Must have manual dexterity necessary to operate the machinery.
