Disability Determination Services (DDS) exists to produce accurate and timely disability determinations for the residents of Nebraska following Social Security Administration (SSA) rules and regulations. DDS receives applications from SSA and makes a medical eligibility determination after gathering medical, psychological, functional, and vocational evidence. These eligibility determinations are based on medical and vocational criteria established by SSA for nationwide use. Application window closes August 11, 2026
